Glance at Crime: 26 assaults, 6 vehicle thefts

Thunder Bay Police Service was responded to more than 187 criminal incidents last week including 32 thefts.

City police responded to more than 187 criminal incidents during the week of Monday, July 10 through Sunday, July 16.

Thunder Bay Police Service statistics are made available through crimereports.com, a website that tracks reported crime via information provided by local police services.

This week’s report shows police were busier on the south side, responding to 99 criminal incidents compared to 88 cases north of the Harbour Expressway.

The more than 187 incidents reported last week is an estimate and does not include traffic cases.

South of the Harbour Expressway, some of the more serious incidents included:

• 15 assaults
• 7 break and enters
• 3 robberies
• 3 sexual assaults
• 23 thefts
• 4 thefts of vehicle
 

Meanwhile, north of the Harbour Expressway some of the more serious incidents included:

• 11 assaults
• 9 break and enters
• 2 robberies
• 2 sexual assaults
• 9 thefts
• 5 thefts from vehicle
• 2 thefts of vehicle

The vast majority of cases city police responded to were listed as either liquor, disorder and property crime.
