THUNDER BAY – City police responded to more than 174 criminal incidents during the week of Monday, Feb. 22 through Sunday, Feb. 28.
Thunder Bay Police Service statistics are made available through crimereports.com, a website that tracks reported crime via information provided by local police services.
This week’s report shows police had their hands full with 30 assaults and 26 reported thefts.
The more than 174 incidents reported last week is an estimate and does not include traffic cases.
South of the Harbour Expressway, city police responded to 88 reported crimes. Some of the more serious incidents included:
• 18 Assaults
• 6 Break and enter
• 11 Thefts
• 3 Thefts from vehicles
• 4 Thefts of vehicles
Meanwhile, north of the Harbour Expressway, officers responded to more than 86 criminal reports.
Some of the more serious incidents reported include:
• 12 Assaults
• 5 Break and enters
• 2 Robbery
• 15 Thefts
• 3 Theft from vehicles
• 2 Theft of vehicles
• 2 Weapons charges
The vast majority of cases city police responded to were listed as either liquor, disorder and property crime.
