THUNDER BAY – City police responded to more than 188 criminal incidents during the week of Monday, March 14 through Sunday, March 20.
Thunder Bay Police Service statistics are made available through crimereports.com, a website that tracks reported crime via information provided by local police services.
This week’s report shows police dealt with few robberies, but still had their hands full with 17 break and enters and another 31 assaults. The week’s homicide investigation has yet to be officially documented as such in the weekly report.
The more than 188 incidents reported last week is an estimate and does not include traffic cases.
South of the Harbour Expressway, city police responded to 100 reported crimes. Some of the more serious incidents included:
• 14 Assaults
• 13 Break and enter
• 1 robbery
• 13 Thefts
• 2 sexual assaults
• 4 Thefts from vehicles
• 2 Thefts of vehicles
Meanwhile, north of the Harbour Expressway, officers responded to more than 88 criminal reports.
Some of the more serious incidents reported include:
• 17 Assaults
• 4 Break and enters
• 12 Thefts
• 2 Theft from vehicles
• 2 Theft of vehicles
• 1 Weapons charges
The vast majority of cases city police responded to were listed as either liquor, disorder and property crime.
