THUNDER BAY -- City police responded to more than 179 incidents during the week of  Monday, Jan. 26 to Sunday, Feb. 1.

Thunder Bay Police Service statistics are made available through crimereports.com, a website that tracks reported crime via information provided by local police services.

The nearly 180 cases reported last week do not include traffic cases.

South of the Harbour Expressway, city police responded to more 86 calls. Some of the more serious incidents included:

  • 9 Assaults
  • 4 Break and enters
  • 1 Robbery
  • 10 Thefts
  • 7 Weapons offences


Meanwhile, north of the Harbour Expressway, officers responded to more than 93 calls.

Some of the more serious incidents reported include:

  • 9 Assaults
  • 3 Break and enters
  • 1 Sexual assaults
  • 17 Thefts
  • 5 Weapons offences

The vast majority of cases city police responded to were listed as either liquor or disorder.
