THUNDER BAY -- City police responded to more than 272 criminal incidents during the week of Monday, June 25 through Sunday, July 3.
Thunder Bay Police Service statistics are made available through crimereports.com, a website that tracks reported crime via information provided by local police services.
This week’s report shows police were only slightly busier on the south side, responding to 142 criminal incidents compared to 130 cases north of the Harbour Expressway.
The more than 143 incidents reported last week is an estimate and does not include traffic cases.
South of the Harbour Expressway, city police responded to 142 reported crimes. Some of the more serious incidents included:
• 18 Assaults
• 16 Break and enter
• 2 Robbery
• 15 Thefts
• 4 Sexual assaults
• 5 Thefts from vehicles
• 3 Thefts of vehicles
Meanwhile, north of the Harbour Expressway, officers responded to more than 130 criminal reports.
Some of the more serious incidents reported include:
• 27 Assaults
• 9 Break and enters
• 16 Thefts
• 3 Theft from vehicles
• 1 Robbery
• 3 Sexual Assaults
• 6 Property Crimes
The vast majority of cases city police responded to were listed as either liquor, disorder and property crime.
