Glance at crime: Police respond to at least 130 incidents, including 19 break and enters

THUNDER BAY – City police responded to more than 130 criminal incidents during the week of Monday, April 4 through Sunday, April 10.

Thunder Bay Police Service statistics are made available through crimereports.com, a website that tracks reported crime via information provided by local police services.

This week’s report shows police were far busier on the south side, responding to 83 criminal incidents compared to 47 cases north of the Harbour Expressway.

The more than 130 incidents reported last week is an estimate and does not include traffic cases.

South of the Harbour Expressway, some of the more serious incidents included:

  • 9 assaults
  • 12 break and enters
  • 13 thefts
  • 2 thefts of vehicle
  • 4 weapons charges
  • 2 other sexual assaults

Meanwhile, north of the Harbour Expressway some of the more serious incidents included:

  • 2 assaults
  • 7 break and enters
  • 3 robberies
  • 2 sexaul assaults
  • 11 thefts

The vast majority of cases city police responded to were listed as either liquor, disorder and property crime.
