Glen Archer carries NDP banner in Kenora-Rainy River

Candidate promises to reverse impact of privatization
election signs

KENORA — The NDP riding association in Kenora-Rainy River has chosen Kenora resident Glen Archer to represent the party in the June 2018 Ontario election.

Archer has worked for almost two decades as a corrections officer at the Kenora jail.

According to an NDP news release, during that time he was actively involved in his union, representing OPSEU members at the facility and advocating for better employment standards.

One of the planks of Archer's campaign platform is reversing the impact of privatizing public services, where he says "too much money has been wasted...over the last 15 years."

He said the NDP will also "fix the crisis in our hospitals, bring down skyrocketing hydro rates and put an end to the systemic barriers First Nation and Metis people face every day."
