It's that time of year when Grade 12 students start weighing their post-secondary options.

More 400 students gathered at Confederation College Wednesday to take a tour and to see first-hand the programs the college offers.

High School students from across the city got the chance to have one-on-one conversations with co-ordinators in the programs of their interest.

The college offers more than 50 post-secondary programs.  And for the first time, Northern College's Haileybury School of Mines and Mining is set to expand to Confederation next fall.

Marjorie Kinnunen is one of the event organizers. She says the open house only happens once a year and they want to make it as fun as possible.

Kinnunen adds that the event grows each year and it's also a chance to hear from high school students about what they are looking for after graduation.
