Officials with Greenstone Gold are updating the potential job numbers for their planned mine project near Geraldton.
Officials with the company travelled the region this past week hosting community open houses to answer the burning question on everyone's mind -- How many jobs will this mine create?
Ian Horne with Greenstone Gold says the company can now confirm that the mine itself will generate 450 jobs during its 15-year lifespan.
In addition to that, the two year construction period will create another 500 jobs when they plan to begin in 2018.
The project's environmental assessment is now in government hands for comment.
The official environmental assessment is expected to be submitted later this year and Greenstone Gold officials say the production period is still on schedule to start in 2019.
