GREENSTONE, Ont. – A New Year’s Eve traffic stop in Greenstone resulted in the seizure of hundreds of grams of hard drugs with a street value of over $185,000, Ontario Provincial Police report.
The OPP says it found 531.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 261 grams of cocaine, as well as more than $6,600 in cash, after stopping two Greenstone residents on Highway 11 near Longlac.
The stop was part of an ongoing investigation, police said Sunday.
The two local residents, 28 and 30 years of age, now face three counts of trafficking (Schedule 1) and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 in connection with the incident.
Both accused were remanded into custody and transported to Thunder Bay awaiting a court date, the OPP said.
