THUNDER BAY -- The local chapter of the Guardian Angels say they have a major partner now that could mean big things for the city and country.
Mac’s Convenience Stores, through its Crimebusters program, have partnered with the group in an effort to boost community safety Guardian Angels leader Ian Hodgkinson said.
"We're on the same page about a lot of things youth programs, just having the whole community involved," he said.
While the partnership is still in the planning stages, Hodgkinson said his group will be using Macs stores as mini-offices and increasing street patrols. They'll also be handing out coupons to children.
"We're going to combine what we do with what they do," he said.
Hodgkinson is hoping to use Thunder Bay as a pilot program for the partnership before spreading it to other cities across the country over the next year.
