Hay named city’s deputy police chief

Thunder Bay Police Service’s Andy Hay has become the force’s second in command. Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service Board announced that Hay would become the city’s deputy chief of police on Monday.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service Board announced that Hay would become the city’s deputy chief of police on Monday.

Hay, a 27-year veteran with the service, graduated from the Canadian Police College Executive Development Program and Lakehead University’s business leadership program.

A longtime resident of Thunder Bay, Hay distinguished himself with his work in restorative youth justice and development of major case management in Ontario.

Board members will officially swear Hay in at a special board meeting on Tuesday.
