THUNDER BAY -- Health-care workers are marching to protest federal cutbacks Friday.
Save Medicare in Canada, organized by Unifor Local 229, wants to bring attention to what it says are $36 billion in cuts to health by the federal government starting in 2017.
Just before noon the group will meet near the Keg before marching to the Northwest Local Health Integration Network office.
In a media release Local 229 vice-president president Suzanne Pulice said pressure needs to be put on all levels of government to maintain and improve the health system.
