THUNDER BAY - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is addressing rumours circulating that hundreds of COVID-19 vaccine doses have been going to waste.
The health unit said in a social media post on Thursday that there is misinformation being spread that hundreds of doses have gone to waste.
“We all know misinformation is a reality in this social media age. No one’s immune to it but we can certainly take steps to curbing it!” the health unit said in a Tweet.
The post goes on to say that the health unit and all its partners have measures in place to ensure all vaccine allocations are put to use and none are wasted.
The province recently entered phase two of its vaccine rollout, which includes those aged 60 and over eligible to book a COVID-19 vaccine in the Thunder Bay District as of Wednesday morning.
