Health unit reporting three new COVID-19 cases

There were 47 additional cases considered resolved, bringing the number of active cases down to 104.

THUNDER BAY - The number of active cases in the Thunder Bay District continues to fall, with dozens of resolved cases outpacing new daily cases.

On Thursday, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported three new COVID-19 cases. With 47 other cases now considered resolved, the number of active cases has fallen to 104.

All three new cases reported on Thursday are from Thunder Bay and surrounding areas. Two are the result of household contacts and one has no known exposure.

There are no new hospitalizations and no additional deaths as a result of the virus. There are currently 10 district hospitalizations and four people in the intensive care unit.

The health unit also reported that case identified on Wednesday as a variant of concern was from an individual that does not reside in the District, and will therefore be counted by another health unit.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 2,937 cases reported.
