THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit says their investigation into cases of COVID-19 at St. Margaret School show no new cases have been uncovered.

The health unit on Thursday sent a letter to the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board, noting they continue to monitor the situation to be able to quickly identify any further cases and provide assessment of any evidence the virus may have spread at the school.

“At this point, no additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified and we have no evidence that the virus has spread in the school setting. While this is reassuring at this time, ongoing vigilance will be maintained until the full risk period has passed,” said Dr. Janet DeMille, medical officer of health at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.”

DeMille went on to say the health unit will advice those currently excluded from in-person learning when it is safe for the individuals to return.
