THUNDER BAY – Heather Dale, a Canadian recording artist with Celtic roots is coming to ThunderCon 2022, much to the excitement of ThunderCon organizers.

“We’ve been looking for ways to include more music in ThunderCon’s programming,” says media director, Heather Dickson. “As well as branch out into the SCA/Ren Fair arena. Heather Dale and her band are a great way to do both.”

Heather Dale finds contemporary themes within old material, and fuses folk traditions with blues, jazz, and world music influences.

Often compared to Loreena McKennitt and Sarah McLachlan, Dale’s unique vocals are paired in live performances with multi-instrumentalist Ben Deschamps and Thunder Bay's drummer/percussionist, John Stadtlander.

Dale has released 15 studio albums, five live albums, three songbooks, and a full-length musical theatre work based on the King Arthur legend titled “Queens of Avalon.”

Dale’s poetry has been featured in seven novels written by New York Times bestselling authors S.M. Stirling and E.K. Johnston and she is also an arts entrepreneur, an experienced audio engineer, the head of her own record label, Amphis Music, and a popular public speaker about independent music in the 21st century.

“We’re hoping that Heather, Ben and John will not only perform on the main stage,” says ThunderCon chair, Kevin Taylor, “But will also be able to run a panel on the ins and outs of genre music, such as inspiration, songwriting, copyright, recording, touring, etc. Thunder Bay has an active music scene, so we look forward to hearing what they have to say.”

ThunderCon runs Sept. 17 and 18, at the CLE grounds. For more information, go to www.thundercon.org, or contact chair Kevin Taylor at kevin@thundercon.org.
