Heavy winds strike city, tree falls on home

THUNDER BAY -- High winds are wreaking havoc around Thunder Bay. Emergency crews have responded to a number of calls of fallen trees on Monday, with wind gusts hitting up to 55 kilometres an hour.

THUNDER BAY -- High winds are wreaking havoc around Thunder Bay.

Emergency crews have responded to a number of calls of fallen trees on Monday, with wind gusts hitting up to 55 kilometres an hour.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue has temporarily blocked off a portion of Hill Street North between Van Norman and Tupper streets after a tree fell on a house and came to rest on the home’s hydro lines.
