THUNDER BAY -- Secondary school teachers have reached a tentative contract deal with the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board.
However, details of the agreement won’t be released until both the union and board ratify the deal, the board said Tuesday in a release.
“We’re pleased with the settlement and plan to bring it to the board on Monday for the consideration of trustee approval,” said Pino Tassone, TBCDSB director of education.
Teachers also expressed happiness to have a deal done.
“We’re very pleased with the tentative agreement and we will be recommending it’s acceptance to our members, said Mike Pozihun, president of the Thunder Bay Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association.
The deal, if accepted, is in place until Aug. 31, 2017 and affects about 160 teachers.
