VERMILION BAY, ON — Flooding continues to disrupt traffic on various sections of highway in Northwestern Ontario.

The Ministry of Transportation initially reported Highway 17 east of Vermilion Bay was closed due to a washout Tuesday night.

At mid-morning Wednesday, updated information posted online on Ontario 511 showed traffic control through that section had resumed with a pilot vehicle in place.

A detour remained available for smaller vehicles.

The ministry also reports two additional new incidents.

Highway 599 is closed 15 km south of Pickle Lake due to a washout.

Highway 641 is also closed because of a washout just north of the Highway 17A junction in Kenora.
