THUNDER BAY -- A 43-year-old man was transferred to hospital in Thunder Bay after a single-vehicle collision on Highway 17 east of Marathon on Wednesday.

Ontario Provincial Police say a Kapuskasing resident had to be extricated from his tractor-trailer by members of the White River Fire Department.

The extent of his injuries was not disclosed.

The transport truck failed to negotiate a curve near White Lake Narrows and struck some rocks before coming to rest in the tree line.

OPP said motorists should expect some delays on Thursday while the tractor-trailer is being removed by a towing company
