After nearly eight hours, a section of Highway 17 has been reopened.
Police had closed a section of the highway near Vermillion Bay early Sunday morning after poor road conditions about 10 kilometres west of the Northern Ontaro community resulted in transports in the ditch and jackknifed across the roadway.
Police advise driving with caution and according to weather conditions, and also warn that a high backlog of traffic from the closure is expected to result in delays.
The highway had been closed to east-bound traffic at Kenora, which was rerouted to Highway 11.
