Highway crash kills one, injures two.

One person has died following a crash on Highway 17, police confirmed Tuesday morning.

Officials with the Superior East OPP say officers are now investigating a motor vehicle crash that took place about 15 kilometres south of Wawa on Highway 17. The crash, which happened before 7:30 a.m., involved a transport truck and a car.

Two injured people were transported to the Dunn Health Centre in Wawa.

No names are being released at this time.

Highway 17, between Wawa and Sault Ste. Marie, is now closed.

Police say more information, including the reopening of the highway, will be provided to media when it becomes available.
