Highway crash kills three people, including two Red Rock girls

WEST PARRY SOUND, Ont.  – Two Red Rock girls, a 13 year old and three month old, have died following a highway crash near Parry Sound.

Officials with the OPP say the fatal incident took place just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say a van exited Highway 529 in Magnetawan First Nation and entered onto Highway 69 into the path of a tractor trailer.

Officers with the OPP, Britt Fire Department, Henvey Inlet First Nation Fire department, Parry Sound EMS, Sudbury EMS and Orgne Air Ambulance all attended the scene.

The driver of the van, William Tuck, 71, of Lake Helen First Nation, along with passenger Ember Wynne, 13, and Myah Kowtiash, 3 months, of Red Rock died from their injuries.

Two passengers from the van were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer suffered minor injuries.

An investigation into the incident continues.
