THUNDER BAY — Gates to the Fort William Historical Park will be swinging open for the start of the season on May 17.
Open seven days a week all season long, the park offers guided tours by appointment until June 30, Starting in July, it will also be open for guests to explore on their own.
The park anticipates holding its usual events throughout the season, including Canada Day festivities, Anishinaabe Keeshigun and more.
This will be the second year that local restaurant The Chanterelle will operate The Cantine. Food and beverage sales will also start on May 17.
In a release from the park, General Manager Patrick Morash expressed their excitement for the upcoming season.
"We look forward to providing a fun, interactive and unique educational experience highlighting a significant time and place that guided Canada’s future.”
FWHP offers daily admission prices and a season pass, providing year-round admission to the historic site for $50 per adult or $90 per family of four.
The park also offers free admission for Indigenous people, military personnel and veterans (with a CFOne card or VSC), and support persons (with a PAL card).
