FORT FRANCES – A male pedestrian was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a hit and run in Fort Frances Saturday morning.
According to an OPP release, officers responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Colonization Road East and Fifth Street East around 9:39 a.m.
Police say the collision occurred when two pedestrians were walking northbound across Colonization Road East towards Fifth Street East when one of the pedestrians was struck by a westbound red or maroon coloured vehicle. Immediately after the collision, the vehicle left the scene.
The male pedestrian was knocked to the ground as a result of the collision and required medical attention.
Rainy River District Emergency Medical Services transported the male to Riverside Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
