Students at CD Howe and Kakabeka Falls Public Schools will be dealing with at least one more day of enhanced security provisions.
The so-called hold and secure order at the schools has been in place since Monday and will continue into Thursday.
Board officials say it is connection with a police investigation of a family matter that impacts both schools.
During a hold and secure, all doors to the school remain locked to monitor who comes and goes, and students cannot leave the building without a guardian.
A decision on whether to lift the order will be made Thursday afternoon.
