THUNDER BAY -- A home on the outskirts of Thunder Bay has been destroyed by fire.

The blaze broke out at around 10 a.m. on Wamsley Road in Pearson Township.

Residents in the area say they were shocked to see clouds of smoke rising in the distance.

It does not appear that anybody was inside the house at the time.

Volunteer fire crews from Neebing and several surrounding townships assisted in trying to put out the blaze, but the fire eventually caused the entire building to collapse.

Fire officials are still not sure what caused the fire. However, it appears the building may have been used as a wood workshop.
