Homeowner attacked with pepper spray, police seek suspects

The Thunder Bay Police responded to an early morning weapons call in the Current River area on June 19, 2016. The 62 year old male resident of a home in the 200 block of Grenville Ave woke up just before 1:30 a.m.

The Thunder Bay Police responded to an early morning weapons call in the Current River area on June 19, 2016.

The 62 year old male resident of a home in the 200 block of Grenville Ave woke up just before 1:30 a.m. to the sounds of someone banging on his back door.

He went outside and encountered two males with flashlights in his back yard. One male sprayed him in the face with what is believed to be pepper spray and then struck him on the arm with an unknown object. The suspects then fled the area.

The victim returned to his home to call for assistance. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance for medical attention.

Police check the area but were unable to locate the two suspects. One male is described as being in his late teens and 5 feet tall. The second male is described as being in his mid-twenties and 6 feet tall.
