The City of Thunder Bay announced Tuesday that it had obtained the two fines in provincial offences court last week.

The first fine was $1,500 and levied against a homeowner on Fairwinds Way. The homeowner received the fine after building a garage at the back of the property without obtaining a building permit.

The second fine was $750 and was levied against a business owner on Alloy Drive. The court heard how the business owner built an addition to his shop without getting a building permit.

Both owners pleaded guilty to the charges. They are still required to get the permits.

A third case was adjourned until March.
