Hotel robbed at knifepoint, suspect flees with cash

Thunder Bay Police are on the hunt for a suspect in an armed robbery this past Friday at Memorial Avenue hotel. Police allege a man with a knife entered the Econo Lodge at about 2 a.m.

Thunder Bay Police are on the hunt for a suspect in an armed robbery this past Friday at Memorial Avenue hotel.

Police allege a man with a knife entered the Econo Lodge at about 2 a.m., walked behind the front desk and opened the cash register, running from the building after taking a handful of cash.

An employee on duty was not harmed during the incident.

The suspect is described as being 5-foot-8 with a heavy build and was wearing a three-quarter length black coat, black pants and a black hat.

His face was covered.
