THUNDER BAY -- The home construction season in Thunder Bay is off to a slow start.
According to the Canada Mortgage and Housing, there were three single-detached homes started in April.
That's two more than last April, when winter weather continued through to the end of the month.
The 10-year average for April is six single family home starts.
The CMHC says the local resale market is strengthening, and that, combined with a slight increase in building permit applications, bodes well for construction numbers over the next few months.
