The Thunder Bay and District Humane Society is welcoming a new addition to their team.
Melanie Blanchette has been announced as the new executive director of the local Humane Society. Her role includes the overall management and leadership of the shelter and fundraising events.
The Thunder Bay native has a degree in criminology, and previously worked in London, Ottawa and the Northwest Territories.
The Humane Society is an agency that solely runs on donations.
The organization’s next fundraising event is the Valentine's Day gala.
