The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is investigating a reported case of animal cruelty in Thunder Bay.

On Feb. 28, the OSPCA received a phone tip that someone had been seen throwing four cats from the balcony of an apartment building at 225 Cumming Street.

When inspectors arrived at the scene, they found three dead kittens, and an adult cat which was still alive.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 5:00 a.m and 8:00 a.m.

It happened at the same building where the OSPCA seized more than 30 cats from one unit last July following the execution of a warrant.

Anyone with information about the recent incident is asked to submit a tip by phoning the OSPCA at 310-SPCA or by contacting Thunder Bay & District Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The OSPCA says all information will be received in confidence.
