Motorists can expect some congestion next week on Golf Links Road as Thunder Bay Hydro moves its utility poles in advance of the planned widening of the busy corridor.

Hydro officials on Thursday issued a media release informing the public the right lane on Golf Links Road, between Fanshaw Street to the Harbour Expressway, will be closed as crews begin the move. At some point, the release goes on to say, the turning lane onto the Harbour Expressway will be closed as well.

Work on the section south of the Expressway is expected to last about a month and will also include a planned power outage to Confederation College.
The work will proceed northward through the fall.
