THUNDER BAY -- Ontario's labour ministry continues to investigate a recent industrial accident in the Thunder Bay area that sent a Hydro One worker to hospital.
The man suffered burns when he came in contact with a live line while he was replacing a hydro pole near the city on Oct. 23.
The extent of his injuries and his condition have not been made available, but Hydro One says the employee sustained a "serious" injury.
He's been transferred to a hospital burn unit for specialized care.
A labour ministry spokesperson said inspectors were dispatched to the accident site, and the ministry subsequently issued 18 requirements to Hydro One.
These included training records, qualification certificates, policy/procedure manuals and other documentation.
The spokesperson said the only outstanding requirement is that the utility submit a copy of its own investigation into the accident.
In a statement, Hydro One said officials remain in contact with the injured man's family and are keeping abreast of his progress and treatment.
