OTTAWA, Ont. -- Bruce Hyer made his first public appearance Monday since undergoing surgery for a cancerous tumour on his tongue.
The independent MP for Thunder Bay-Superior North spoke in the House of Commons Monday afternoon, and received a loud ovation from his fellow Parliamentarians.
Hyer had surgery on Jan. 9 to have a portion of his tongue removed, and still must use a breathing tube while he recovers.
He used the opportunity in Question Period to speak out against the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline in British Columbia, and Hyer questioned the Harper Government for allowing it to move forward.
