Illness strikes Thunder Bay nursing home

THUNDER BAY -- The Thunder Bay District Health Unit and St. Joseph's Care Group say two strains of illness have hit residents of Hogarth Riverview Manor.

They have declared outbreaks of respiratory illness as well as gastrointestinal illness at the Lillie Street nursing home.

The gastrointestinal outbreak affects four sections of Hogarth Riverview Manor including Rose, Tulip, Trillium and Violet.

The respiratory outbreak is restricted to Lilac.

All admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities in these sections have been cancelled until further notice.
