Impaired driver has vehicle towed away after failed breathalyzer test

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On January 1, 2016 at approximately 2:40 am, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop near Portage Avenue South and First Street East in the Town of Fort Frances, ON.

After speaking with the driver, determined the driver had been drinking. The driver a 31-year-old Naicatchewenin First Nation woman failed the roadside test, and was subsequently arrested.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded and impounded for seven days. The driver was transported to Fort Frances Detachment and subsequently charged with Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 Milliliters of Blood following the results of Breathalyzer tests.

She will appear in Fort Frances Court on February 1, 2016 to answer to the charge.
