THUNDER BAY -- Investigators suspect the improper disposal of ash or charcoal is what led to a Thursday evening garage fire in Westfort.
Firefighters with the Thunder Bay Fire Rescue were dispatched to East Mary Street at about 8:30 p.m.
Firefighters at the scene managed to snuff out the blaze, but not before it caused significant damage to the building and the contents within.
No injuries were reported as a result of this fire.
Firefighters believe the improper disposal of contents from a wood-burning appliance led to the fire, but could not confirm because the investigation was still ongoing.
