THUNDER BAY – An inquest has been announced into the circumstances surrounding the death of Emmanuel Oruitemeka.
Mr. Oruitemeka, 25, died in hospital on February 16, 2014, after collapsing while in police custody four days earlier. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.
Details regarding the date and location will be provided at a later date when the information becomes available.
Dr. Bob Reddoch will preside as inquest coroner and Robert Kozak will be counsel to the coroner.
