The Insurance Bureau of Canada is now on site in the East End, trying to help residents of flooded homes who have concerns about processing claims.
The bureau has representatives set up to answer general insurance inquiries via its Community Assistance Mobile Pavilion, or CAMP unit.
IBC vice-president of communications James Geuzebroek says while many area residents continue to await a visit from an insurance adjuster, there are some things that can be done in the meantime to prepare for that appointment.
Geuzebroek advises residents not to undertake any structural repairs or pull up carpets before speaking with the insurance company.
