Drivers at the busy corner of May and Miles streets had an unusual obstacle to navigate around Friday morning.
A traffic light pole was toppled, and lying in the middle of the intersection. It appears the pole was accidentally struck by a city sidewalk sander.
Work crews had to cut the pole into pieces before removing it, and traffic was slowed down to a crawl until the removal was complete.
There's no word on what caused the sander to crash into the pole.
