Jacobs remains perfect at Northern Ontario play-downs

Lopsided wins over Thunder Bay rinks leaves former Olympic champion in first place at 3-0.

SAULT STE. MARIE -- Brad Jacobs continues to roll along at the Northern Ontario men's curling play-downs in Sault Ste. Marie. 

On Friday both his wins came at the expense of Thunder Bay rinks. 

Jacobs thumped Trevor Bonot 9-1 in the morning draw, then made easy work of Dylan Johnston in his second match of the day, winning 8-1 to improve to 3-0 at the four-day event. 

Bonot did bounce back in his second game of the day, eding Chris Gilbota 4-3 and sits at 2-1, tied with Sandy McEwan in second place. MacEwan beat Joshua Szajewski 10-3, only needing seven ends to end the match. 

Bonot and MacEwan meet on Saturday morning, while Johnston (1-2) takes on Szajewcki. The round-robin wraps up with a 2 p.m. draw, with Bonot playing Szajewski and Johnston playing Gilbota
