THUNDER BAY -- Despite some recent bad news for Thunder Bay's economy, there are jobs available.

That's according to officials at YES Employment who have been kept busy with all the recent job cuts. The impending closures of Target, Teleperformance and two old age homes, has created hundreds of job seekers.

More than 350 job are expected to be lost in the coming months in Thunder Bay. Around 200 people will be out of work when Target closes in May along with more than 150 when Teleperformance closes its Thunder Bay location. YES Employment Marketing Communications Officer Sharon Kovacic said they've also been seeing staff from Dawson Court and Grandview Lodge.

Despite the recent closures in the city, Kovacic says there are jobs available.

The first step is coming in and making an appointment with an employment counselor. She said the success rate runs at around 70 percent.
