Kenora man arrested after police respond to break in reports

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Kenora detachment have charged a local male following a break in that occurred on Sunday June 21, 2015.

Police were called to a north side residence at approximately 4:00pm regarding a break and enter. When the home owners returned home, they observed a male leaving their residence and were able to provide police with a description. It was determined the male stole some electronics from the residence.

The male was located and arrested within the vicinity of the residence a short time later.

As a result of this investigation, Gerald SMITH, age 19 of Kenora has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000, Fail to Comply with Probation Order and Break and Enter a Dwelling house contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He appeared in bail court on Monday, June 22, 2015.
