Kenora man charged with arson following Sunday night fire

Two people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

KENORA — A 51-year-old Kenora man is facing charges related to arson following a fire on Second Street in Kenora on Sunday night.

Kenora Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched just before midnight on Sunday, Dec. 20 to assist Kenora Fire in the city’s downtown core.

Police attended and were able to ensure all occupants were evacuated from the building safely. Two people were taken to the hospital by Kenora emergency medical services with non-life threatening injuries.

Donald Hill, 51, has been charged with one count of arson: disregard for human life. Hill was released on a Form 10 to attend the Kenora Courthouse on Jan. 21, according to police.
