(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora OPP have charged five people for Impaired Driving related offences over the long weekend.
On July 27, 2016 shortly before midnight, police responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision at the junction of Highway 525 and Highway 596. Police located the vehicle and driver and determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. He was arrested and transported for further tests. No injuries were reported.
A 22-year-old man of of Yellowknife, NWT has been charged with Driving With Over .80 mg of Alcohol in his Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code. He is to attend court on September 8, 2016 to answer to the charge
On July 29, 2016 just before midnight, police attended a two vehicle motor vehicle collision in the Fifth Street South area of Kenora. A female driver of one of the vehicles was found to have been consuming alcohol. She was arrested and transported for further tests. No injuries were reported.

On July 30, 2016 at approximately 6:45 pm police were on marine patrol on Lake of the Woods near Coney Island when they observed a male operating personal watercraft without a Personal Floatation Device. Upon stopping and speaking with the male, police determined he had been consuming alcohol. He was arrested and transported for further tests.
A 24-year-old Narol, Manitoba, man has been charged with Operating a Vessel With Over .80 mg of Alcohol in his blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code. He is to attend court on September 8, 2016 to answer to the charge.
Shortly after midnight on July 31, police were called to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 671, north of Kenora.
Police, Fire and Ambulance attended and located the vehicle, driver and passengers. Two 19 year old male passengers were transported to hospital with non-life threating injuries. Police determined the driver had been consuming alcohol and he was arrested and transported for further tests.
A 20-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with Driving With Over .80 mg of Alcohol in his Blood Causing Bodily harm (2 counts) contrary to section 255(2.1) of the Criminal Code (CC) and Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm contrary to section 255(2) CC (2 counts). He is to attend court on September 8, 2016 to answer to the charges.
On July 31, 2016 around 5:30 pm, police were conducting marine patrol in the Clearwater Bay area of Lake of the Woods. They conducted a vessel stop and determined the male driver had been consuming alcohol. He was arrested and transported for further tests.
