KENORA — Kenora Ontario Provincial Police responded to more than 150 calls for service over the Family Day long weekend.
Police responded to 155 calls from Friday, Feb. 12 to Tuesday, Feb. 16 and laid 19 charges under the criminal code and highway traffic act, according to a news release issued this week.
Some calls police attended to included three alarms, three assaults, four ambulance assistance, two break and enters, five thefts, nine liquor licence acts, five traffic complaints, eight police assistance, eight police information, two mental health act, three motor vehicle collision, five trouble with youth and 17 unwanted persons.
Police are reminding the public of the OPP’s Self Reporting tool where citizens can report specific crimes online provided there are no suspects, injuries or the incident is not an emergency, OPP say.
Some calls for service which can be reported online include:
- Theft under $5,000
- Mischief/damage to property under $5,000
- Mischief/damage to vehicle under $5,000
- Theft from vehicle
- Lost/missing property under $5,000
- Stolen license plates
- Driving complaints
