Kenora OPP responded to nearly 190 calls for service over Easter long weekend

Police responded to a variety of calls between April 2 to 5 in Kenora.

KENORA — Kenora Ontario Provincial Police responded to 189 calls for service over the Easter long weekend.

From April 2 to 5, OPP in Kenora responded to a variety of calls, according to a police news release.

Some of the calls police attended to included seven assaults, eight ambulance assistance, two bail violations, 12 liquor licence acts, six traffic complaints, seven domestic disputes, four attempts or threats of suicide, 15 police assistance, 12 police information, seven suspicious person, six motor vehicle collisions, three thefts, six trespasses to property incidents, 23 unwanted person and two weapons calls.

In total, police laid 29 charges under the criminal code and highway traffic act.
